As the Project Manager of the Fellowes Athenaeum Trust Fund of the Boston PUblic Library, I observed two sessions of her CALM Experiencce(Creative Activites for Learning Mindfulness) program for children ages 9-12. She is an amazing teacher and facilitator. She created agreements for conduct/behavior at the beginning of the series and went over them at the beginning of each session. This gave order to how students interacted with her and each other. When anyone didn't adhere, she would gently and effectively steer them back to the behavior/conduct they'd agreed on. Because she was focused and didn't get swayed, even the antsiest and most talkative kids were able to get refocused.
She gave the children ample time to ask questions, explain concepts to her and each other, and always had choices among the activities they could choose to do. When they asked questions about what was going on, she said without fail, "Thank you for asking, I appreciate that." She also frequentlys aid, "Thank you for listening, I appreciate that."
She taught them about various emotions and techniques to handle anxiety, including rhythmic breathing. She had them make CALM Creations, like slime, jewelry, scented sports arm sleeves, and beads, to help them focus and deal with anxiety.
She is superb and I would fund her again. I am also asking that she facilitate a training for other grantees who work with this age group because she was so effective.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your feedback. Your words are very encouraging.

I've had the pleasure of working with Ephiteo for a few programs at the Watertown Free Public Library since 2023 up to today. Her workshop with our "Library Insiders" was incredibly popular! We host a monthly program for adults with developmental and cognitive disabilities, and they adored working with Ephiteo. She was incredibly flexible, able to pivot for adults that had different needs, and authentically invested in each individual's experience. We asked for feedback on the program and someone wrote on the page, "Can we do this every day?" Everyone was really engaged and loved working with Ephiteo. From a coordinator perspective, Ephiteo is just so awesome to work with - communicative, very intentional, and easygoing. - Allie Fry, Programming Librarian
Both of my children (8 & 9 years old) have participated in Emerged Wellness programs. My son (9) and I attended an "Emotional Ride" workshop hosted by Téo and he loved the connection between his emotional and physical experience influence one another. It gave him a tangible reference for when he feels himself going to fast, too slow, or just right inside, and what can happen on the outside when we feel those certain ways. In an age-appropriate, yet sophisticated, manner, Téo was able to engage children and adults around what we all experience (physically and emotionally) though rarely get to practice in a communal setting. My daughter (8) participated in a multi-month workshop, "Acting Out" hosted by Téo for Watertown Community Education's Courses for Kids after school. She would come home saying Téo's course was the best part of her day; she loved reenacting scenes from her skits and explaining what her emotions do. We are grateful as a family to have kids who are emotionally expressive, engaged, and articulate with their feelings. Téo's work has been a tremendous support in helping us support them in their understanding of themselves as emotionally aware and curious people. Sara Keary, parent
